🟣 The Creator Academy: The 4-Step Playbook to Master LinkedIn

Published 12 months ago • 3 min read

Hello Reader,

What's up?

Hope all is well in your world.

By now, you know that, on many different occasions, I’ve been speaking about LinkedIn and how to utilize it to grow your service business.

As no other, I understand that it’s a lot of different moving elements.

It’s no surprise that it might get complicated at times.

In this newsletter, I’d like to share the overall blueprint for using LinkedIn the right way, resulting ultimately in a consistent lead flow.

Something we’all want, right?

Note: besides the quick theory, I'm sharing a lot of resources you can use to get better at a specific part.

All right, ready?

Let’s buckle up, take notes and implement.

Part 1: Define your brand

  1. Focus on your unique value proposition: For example, if you're a marketing consultant, you might specialize in helping B2B companies generate leads through LinkedIn advertising. Your unique value proposition could be that you have a proven track record of delivering high-quality leads at a lower cost than other consultants.
  2. Emphasize your experience: If you have a strong background in your industry, make sure to highlight it. For example, if you're a consultant who specializes in helping startups with fundraising, highlight your experience as a former startup founder or investor.
  3. Showcase your personality: LinkedIn is a professional network, but that doesn't mean you can't let your personality shine through. If you have a unique or memorable approach to coaching or consulting, make sure to highlight it in your profile and content.

📝 Resources:

Part 2: Optimize your profile

  1. Use a professional headshot: Your profile picture should be high-quality and reflect your professional persona. Avoid using casual or unprofessional photos.
  2. Write a compelling headline: Your headline should grab the attention of your target audience and clearly communicate who you help and what you do. Use keywords that your target audience is likely to search for on LinkedIn.
  3. Craft a well-written summary: Your summary should give a brief overview of your background, expertise, and unique value proposition. Use this section to highlight your achievements and the results you've achieved for past clients. Make sure to have the audience at the center, not you.

📝 Resources:

Part 3: Create valuable content:

  1. Create authority-building content: LinkedIn's algorithm favors long-form posts that engage your audience. Share your insights and advice on topics that are relevant to your target audience, and make sure to use visual elements like images and videos to keep your posts engaging.
  2. Share industry news and trends: Stay up-to-date on the latest news and trends in your industry and share your thoughts on how they'll affect your clients. This shows that you're an expert in your field and can help build trust with your audience.
  3. Share client success stories: Case studies and success stories from your clients can help demonstrate your expertise and build social proof. Make sure to get permission from your clients before sharing their stories.

📝 Resources:

Part 4: Engage with your network:

  1. Contribute to other creators: Actively engage with relevant accounts (peers, industry leaders and potential clients). This can help you get more exposure and build relationships with other professionals in your field.
  2. Respond to comments and messages promptly: Make sure to respond to comments on your posts and messages from your connections promptly. This shows that you're engaged with your audience and value their input.
  3. Offer value to others: Look for opportunities to offer value to your connections by sharing your expertise, offering helpful advice, or doing collaborations. This can help build your reputation as an expert in your field and make your connections more likely to recommend you to others.

Hey Reader, Hope all is well with you. Checking in from currently not-so-sunny Medellin. If you’re anything like me, you want to have ONE THING from LinkedIn: A consistent stream of high-quality leads. The traditional way of lead-generation didn't work for me: Frustration with the time-consuming process of manually qualifying and filtering potential leads. Cold messaging and sending generic connection requests without any personalization. The difficulty of standing out in a crowded LinkedIn...

Hey, Reader, By now, you know I’m all about LinkedIn. In fact, last Wednesday I celebrated my 365-day posting anniversary. Pretty cool. Especially, if you think of the results it got me: + Grown an audience of 26,792 people. + Made close to 6-figures off this platform. + Ended up in Colombia w/ LinkedIn Friends. + Become known as the Purple LinkedIn Guy. + Met a handful of LinkedIn rockstars in person. Recently, I partnered up with the #1 LinkedIn copywriter & growth expert (for real). I’m...

Hey Reader, Hope you’re doing well. Today, I wanna talk about something very cool: Offer creation. As a coach, consultant, or service provider, one of the most important things you can do to grow your business is to create offers that your ideal clients find irresistible. An irresistible offer is one that is so compelling, your ideal clients can't help but say "yes" to it. Now… Creating this irresistible offer is a very iterative process. And, yes – at times, it very much sucks. I don’t...
